African House

A place for African Australians and the wider Qld community to come together

African House is a community centre facility leased by Queensland African Communities Council (QACC) Inc from Brisbane City Council. African house has been operational since early 2012 and has secured a five year lease to QACC from Brisbane City Council.
African house serve a range of needs and uses. Clients includes QACC’s member organisations and individual members, other community organisations, individuals and businesses.
Its use is varied and includes the following:-
• Office space for QACC
• Meeting Rooms for QACC member organisations
• A Community Centre/Function Centre for QACC member organisations events
• A Community Centre/Function Centre for QACC members personal events, such as weddings, birthdays etc.
• A Community Centre for hire to other community organisations
• A Function Centre for hire by businesses for mid-week uses such as training and sales presentations
• A Function Centre for hire by individuals for weekend uses such as weddings, parties, events etc.
Since the opening of African house over 150 community events, community meetings and consultations have been held, attracting over 20,000 individual visits to the house.

Operation hours: 8am – 10pm Sunday – Thursday
8am – 12am Friday – Saturday
